A Quick Guide to BoyleSports
While Ireland’s other well-known bookmaker Paddy Power often hits the headline with their guerrilla marketing, BoyleSports takes a much more low key approach, relying more on great promotions than publicity stunts to attract customers.
BoyleSport’s welcome offer of “Bet 10 Get 20” may seem quite small compared to other online betting sites but this offer is transparent and doesn’t come with hidden terms and conditions, no wagering requirements and is definitely a better proposition for the more casual player.
If you are a tipster who loves to analyse the fine details and previous meetings, then you will adore BoyleSports excellent statistics that they provide for all the major football leagues. Most online sports betting sites provide stats but BoyleSports do it better! Pie charts, graphs, colours, you name it, it’s here and it looks awesome.

With over 30 different markets, BoyleSports has a good range of sporting events to bet on. All the usual suspects are present and whichever sport you choose, you will find it easy to place a bet.
If one of your talents is predicting the results of football games then BoyleSports have a couple of great games for you, ‘Millionaire’ and ‘The Colossus’.
One of the more interesting bets is ‘The Colossus’! It costs £2 to enter and the prize for seven correct predictions is an amazing £10,000,000. If £2 is a bit steep for you, you can change the stake. 20p would pay out £1,000,000, 50p would pay out £2,500,000 and a £1 bet would pay out £5,000,000. The ‘Millionaire’ game works the same way but the pay-outs are not as big as The Colossus, currently the jackpot for a £2 bet is £3,754,436. Still, I wouldn’t mind that being sat in my bank account.
Another great feature of the BoyleSports have is their ‘specials’, these are specially designed combo bets and feature boosted odds. For horse racing fans there are plenty of specials which change daily. An example of this is “easy as 1-2-3”, in this bet one of the horses is to win, the second horse is to finish in the first 2 places and the third horse to finish within the top 3. Another example is “Kempton Park Place Accumulator”, for this bet to win then all 8 starting price favourites to be placed. There are normally 6 or 7 of these bets and they are well thought out.
This specials theme is also done for football, in a recent Champions League match day, you could get odds of 5/2 if Aubmeyang, Ronaldo and Higuain all to score. On a similar theme you could get 3/1 on Borussia Dortmund, Juventus & Tottenham to all win their games. You will also find unique multi-sport bets in this section, this could involve 1 leg involving football, 1 leg involving horseracing and the last leg involving tennis. I find these bets quite interesting and different approach from many online sports betting sites.
The virtuals market is one that is becoming more popular with us Brits, it combines ultra-realistic graphics with amazing sound and commentary to give an experience that is pretty close to ‘being there’. Boyle Sports not only do this well, they have one of the biggest range of virtuals on offer from any online bookie! You can enjoy flat racing, National Hunt, Greyhounds, Motor racing, Speedway, Cycling and Football. All with amazing HD graphics, it’s a bit like watching your PlayStation or Xbox but the difference is that you can win money!
Financials is another market that you don’t see at every online site, it is Forex betting and you will see a huge (and I mean HUGE) list of International currency markets and you have to predict if one stock will go higher or lower than the other one. It’s not just currency either, you can bet on the outcome of many of the world’s biggest companies. For the Us there is Apple, Google, Nike, McDonalds, Disney and Ebay to name just a few. For the EU, you will find companies such as BMW, BP, RBS, Manchester United, Vodaphone and Sky. I will be totally honest and state that I have never played the financials market but even through my uneducated eyes, I can see there is a massive range of opportunities here so I’ve this is a market that interests you, you will be well served here.
Another market that you do not see at many online sports betting sites is the lotteries market. I won’t spend too much time on this but I was very surprised to see the prizes being offered at Boyle Sports were a lot higher than the pay-out from the lottery itself. For example, if you correctly get 3 main numbers in the lottery, you win £25. Pick 3 correct from Boyle Sports and the odds quoted are 1150/1, this is some difference! It’s not just the UK lottery you can bet on either. You have a choice of 14, UK Lottery, Irish Lottery, daily millions, Euro Lotto, Australian Lottery, French Lottery, German Lottery, New York Lottery, Canadian Lottery, Greek Lottery, Hong Kong Lottery, Spanish Lottery and Polish Lottery.
I genuinely like the layout and design at Boyle Sports! Whilst the white background with black text maybe difficult for some people, I like it. It feels fresh, clean and easy to find anything I needed. Most of this simplicity of use comes from some really nice design touches. On the left hand side of the screen you always get your A-Z of sports, so it’s pretty much impossible to get lost. However, it’s in the centre of the screen that the magic happens!
The main betting markets are shown in the middle of the screen but rather than having an endless list of topics you can bet on, there is a mini bar with subsections you can choose. This means you don’t see pages and pages of bets to scroll down on, just a chosen few.
It gets even better if for example I want to place several under / over bets, on most sites I would need to go into the individual games and find the under / over market. Here it is much, much easier. Just click on the under / over button and every upcoming game is shown, this makes picking multiple bets a dream. I wish more sites did this!
One of my favourite features of this site is its excellent information on televised events. With football games taking place on Sky, BT, ITV, BBC and many more, it is often difficult to find out what channel an event is on! But a quick look at Boyle Sports homepage gives all the information needed. You will see a black TV icon, hover over that and it will clearly show what channels the action can be seen on. This is a brilliant touch and has saved me ‘googling’ on many occasions.
Is Boyle Sports without fault? No, is the simple answer. On occasions I would find that the ‘Live now’ section would often take 5 or 6 seconds to load after the main page had fully loaded. This was irksome rather than a major problem. However, on some occasions the whole page would re-load itself, even if I was watching a virtual race. Nothing was ever lost and the page continued as it was, but again, just annoying.
Bonus Offers and Promotions at BoyleSports
If you like your welcome bonuses simple to understand and free from wagering requirements then the offer from Boyle Sports is likely to appeal. If you bet £10, you will receive £20 in total of free bets.
So now it is time to make you aware of the conditions to this bonus,
- Place a bet of £10 or more at odds of EVS (2.0) or greater
- The qualifying bet must be the first bet settled on the account.
- Acquired free bets gained through other promotions will be removed from this offer.
- For multiple bets the combined odds must be EVS (2.0) or greater
- The First free bet will be applied within 6 hours of settlement of the qualifying bet.
- Each token after this will be applied on a next day basis after you use your previous free bet.
- Free bets will be applied as 4 x £5 free bets.
- Free bet cannot be used over the same selections.
- Free bets will expire within 7 days.
- Free bet stakes will not be included in any free bet returns.
- Qualifying bet must be placed within 30 days of account opening.
- Customer depositing with Moneybookers or Neteller will not qualify for this offer.
This bonus is fine and will suit the majority of casual players, the minimum odds of evens is fine but this could rule out some bets (betting on Bournemouth to beat Sunderland, Manchester City to beat Middlesbrough are a couple of examples) so if you intend on backing a team or an event at short odds then I would take advantage of 888sports treble the odds offer.
Other Promotions at BoyleSports
Boyle Sports is not overloaded with promotions and they are functional rather than innovative. It is worth mentioning that most promotions at Boyle Sports require you to ‘opt in’ for the offer. This only takes a second once you press the promotions tab. This as least gives you a chance to see if any terms and conditions are attached to a promotion.
All Losing Bets Refunded as a Free Bet if either side hit the crossbar. –
I really like this offer and I would say it is the best promotion at Boyle Sports due to the high chance of this paying out. The offer is simple, all losing bets made pre-match will be refunded if either team hits the bar.
- Applies to pre-match bets only.
- Applies to single bets only.
- Applies to 90mins match betting only.
- The ball must hit the crossbar, the side posts do not qualify for this offer.
- The ball must rebound back into play off the crossbar.
- Singles as part of multi-bets will not qualify
- Max free bet refund of £25 per customer.
- Free bets will expire within 7 days of application.
- If you deposit using Moneybookers or Neteller then you will not qualify for this offer.
As one twitter user James Elliott stated on BoyleSports page, “I win more money @BoyleSports from free bets off crossbar challenge than I do from actual betting, Gr8 (sic) offer never take it away”. It is well worth checking both their Facebook page and Twitter feed as there are some great ‘in the moment’ free bet offers for correct score predictions etc. On the twitter feed you can also see how many times they have refunded due to the crossbar being hit.
Football Acca Insurance – This is quite a common promotion at online sports betting sites and has been a saviour of mine many times, really simple offer to understand, if one leg of your 5+ acca lets you down then you will be compensated with a free bet equivalent to you stake.
- Opt-in is required to participate in this offer.
- Football Acca Insurance applies to all accumulator bets with 5 or more selections.
- All matches most be played and settled in the same day.
- Football accumulator must contain one losing leg only to trigger refund.
- Minimum odds of 1/3 per selection/leg.
- Minimum stake of £5 to trigger offer.
- Max refund per customer £25.
- One free bet per customer per day.
- In play bets will not qualify for this offer.
- Accumulator can only contain Football selections.
- Refund will be applied within 24 hours as a free bet.
- Free bets do not qualify for this offer.
- Customers depositing via Neteller and Moneybookers will not qualify for this offer.
Best Odds Guaranteed – This guarantees that if the price that you took on a UK/Irish horse race runner drifts to a better price, you will be paid out at the better odds. This is a popular feature and all the best online betting sites have this offer. BoyleSport also run this offer for all BAGS/BEGS greyhound races.
Fair Play Moneyback – This is a nice little offer! You are probably aware that if a horse fails to start, many online bookies will class the bet as settled as a loss. With this deal, if your horse goes under starters orders but then fails to run, you will then receive your stake back as a free bet.
- Applies to all UK & Irish races every day.
- Applies to win singles & win part of e/w singles only.
- Refund will apply if your horse fails to race after coming under starters orders.
- Does not apply to singles in multi-bets.
- Max free bet refund £100 per customer.
- Free bets will be applied within 24 hours.
- Free bets do not qualify for this offer.
- Free bets will expire within 7 days of application.
- Customers depositing using Neteller or Moneybookers will not be eligible for this offer.
This offer is similar to another promotion that Boyle Sports offer, if your horse falls at the first or last jump on selected meetings, they will refund your stake as a free bet.
Live In-play Betting with BoyleSports
There are two ways to access the in-play market at BoyleSports! You can either just click on the event in the live now section of the homepage or you can click on the In-play tab at the top of the screen.
BoyleSports allows you to favourite events and you will then find them bunched together in the favourites tab. By default, all events are shown but you can minimise certain market folders if it is starting to look a bit messy.
Overall, in-play betting works fine at BoyleSports, it’s logically laid out and placing a bet only takes a few seconds. I am a bit disappointed with the lack of any graphics to depict the action that is happening. Other sites do this a lot better and I hope BoyleSports improve this in the future.
One area for improvement for BoyleSports site is live streaming! BoyleSports offer a very limited event streaming service. So limited that only selected horse racing events are available to view. To watch a race, you need to place a minimum bet of £1 on the race you wish to see. If streaming is important to you then why not try Bet365 who are the best online sports site for streaming.
Get Mobile with the BoyleSports App
The app is available for both IOS (Apple) and Android devices and is a competent companion for betting on the move. The app features all the markets and bonuses of the desktop site and you can use the app to receive daily betting news as well as using the app for in-play betting.
You can watch the somewhat limited streaming of certain horse racing meetings as long as you place at least a £1 bet on the race.
Payment Methods Accepted at BoyleSports
BoyleSports accepts a large number of payment methods, the most popular payment methods such as Visa, Mastercard and Electron are supported as well as less known options such as the mobile payment platform boku. You can also use other options such as Skrill, Neteller, paysafe and bank transfer.
No matter which method you use to fund your BoyleSports account, there will be no charges imposed by BoyleSport. For bank transfers, you may be charged a fee from your bank, you would need to contact your bank to enquire what these charges are.
All deposit methods are instant with the exception of bank transfer which usually takes a couple of working days to complete, this however is dependant again on your bank.
The average time to process withdrawals is 3-5 days which is standard for an online betting site. As is normal practice when betting online, you can expect to have to provide evidence of your identity when you first make a request to collect your winnings. I would have liked to see PayPal accepted as this method is very popular with many of our visitors.
Support at BoyleSports
Not directly linked to support in the traditional way, I love the statistics format that Boyle Sports uses! Not only does it look gorgeous, it is unbelievably detailed. I often bet with 2 or 3 main bookmakers and even if I’m using a different site to place a bet, I still use Boyle Sports when researching. Most other betting sites stats look bland and uninspiring but Boyle Sports use of colour and interactivity is wonderful and it even has different stats sections for different types of bets (handicap markets, total goals market, goalscorer market, correct score, first half, booking market and time of goal market).
When first seeking help on the website, you will be directed to the FAQ guide and whilst very comprehensive it is a bit bland. For some topics though, screenshots are used to good effect to guide you to self-help.
If the FAQ section doesn’t solve your issue you can use live chat to ask a member of the support team for help. They answered very quickly and provided a good overall level of customer care. You can call them using a Freephone number which is available 24/7. For more complex enquiries, email might be a better option and the 24hr turnaround time for email enquiries is just about acceptable.
